INTRODUCTION: The Junior's program was developed for ages 7 to 12 and mirrors the adult program curriculum. The Junior's program also emphasizes Life Skills training such as: confidence, discipline, self control, respect, improving hand & eye coordination, listening skills, teamwork, social interaction, along with practical self defense and bully defense techniques. We use a report card system in this program, to monitor behavior skills at home and at school. This allows us to insure that we are creating better human beings first, better martial artists second. This program is a transitional program to move into the adult program at around age 13.
JUNIORS: At Reis Martial Arts we offer the Junior's program with a practical self defense curriculum suited to meet the goals of our local community parents for their children's self defense needs. Our training allows each student to really learn and apply their skills should a stranger danger or bully situation arise. However, we teach our Juniors to use these skills only as a last resort to insure that our students do not become bullies themselves. This program also allows those students interested, to move into leadership roles through our Student Leader program. All of the attributes found in extra-curricular sports are found in our program with 2 additional skills not found in team sports: self defense skills and no kid sits on the bench! We don't do forms or "Katas" found in other programs as they are too limiting and only teach kids how to copy the instructor, not learn for themselves. Our instructors know each child by name and we give a great deal of personal attention to each child in our program. Also, you won't find kids teaching kids here, our instructor staff is qualified and certified to lead you child to Black Belt Excellence! Our Junior's program provides four - 45 minute classes per week, in a fun, safe, high energy setting that the kids love. We also have our Black Belt Club and Masters Club available in this program to offer even more training.
TAKE THE TRAINING CHALLENGE If you have a child age 7 to 12 and are interested in getting him or her into this program, we invite you to bring your child by to watch the fun, then sit down with our Executive Program Director to get more details about this and many other programs offered at Reis Martial Arts.
